About Me
Before becoming a Psychotherapist, I spent many years working to support and resource the emotional health of those in need. Whether it was as a teacher leading emotional development groups for teens or working as an advocate in a Domestic Violence shelter, I’ve always felt the importance of providing a space where people can express themselves without fear of judgment or scrutiny.
I received a B.A. at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington with a focus on Eastern Philosophy and Transpersonal Psychology, a degree that afforded me a smooth transition into my graduate studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. It was during my experience as a graduate student that I began to understand the importance of exploring my own experience of self and being honest about my own judgments and criticisms, whether they were of others or directed inwards. This was a process that better allowed me to empathize with my clients through understanding the complexities in the many ways we run from ourselves.
As a licensed clinician I am drawn toward working with those who question and are curious about the human experience and who want to better understand themselves and how they relate to the world around them. I enjoy working with individual adults as well as adolescents and couples. Each client has a unique path to walk, and it’s my job to help them navigate that path using their own wisdom and experience to guide the way. I see it as crucial that people feel respected and listened to first and foremost, and therapeutic relationships can only deepen once a client believes they are being met with real compassion.
